Meet Chris Étienne
I've spent 20+ years as an operational architect in fintech and capital markets — building the systems that let companies scale without breaking.
At Numerix, I led global support and technology operations through the company's growth from $5M to $100M in revenue, serving 900+ financial institutions across 25+ countries. I also led the architectural shift from desktop software to SaaS on AWS — the move that made that scale possible.
I architected the Salesforce org in 2007; it's still running. I designed the global support architecture that scaled the install base; it still holds.
My work spans the full operational stack: Salesforce architecture and CRM orchestration, RevOps unification, incident management and business continuity, AI integration and automation, post-merger operational unification, and global team building.
What I do is see the whole operating system — people, processes, technology, data — as one architecture, and align it so the business can scale without proportionally adding headcount. I don't fix problems in isolation. I build systems that prevent them.
That work became the AI-Powered Operational Excellence™ Framework (AIPOEF™) — Qnèctra's strategic model for sequencing AI into operations safely.
Baseline first. Governance before automation. AI only where it's safe and measurable. That's the work.
What clients say
"Chris architected the operational systems that allowed Numerix to scale revenue significantly without a corresponding increase in headcount — his discipline, innovation, and leadership made growth feel controlled rather than chaotic."
Dawn Patrick
COO, Numerix
"Chris brought an operator's mindset to our data — tight KPI definitions, clean drill paths, and a reporting layer that reduced ambiguity and increased confidence in the numbers."
Steve O'Hanlon
CEO, Deepfin Labs
How I think about this work
Operations are the product.
Decision velocity is the KPI. Margin is the scoreboard. Operations get the rigor product teams reserve for software — not the budget treatment of a back-office cost line.
Designed for absence.
Tribal knowledge is operational risk. Systems should run when the person who built them isn't in the room — documented, executable by anyone, not held together by heroics.
Baseline first.
AI doesn't fix chaos; it amplifies it. Standardize the workflows, clean the data, establish governance — then deploy AI where it's safe and measurable.
An Operator's Perspective
Unlike consultants who parachute in with decks, I've been in your seat. I've carried P&L responsibility, managed global teams across time zones, navigated post-merger integration, and made the calls when production systems failed at 2 AM.
That perspective shapes how Qnèctra works. The output isn't a strategic roadmap someone else implements — it's working systems, designed by someone who understands the real constraints: budgets, technical debt, regulatory exposure, team capacity, and the daily firefighting that comes with running fintech operations.
I've been on your side of the table. That's the difference.
How I work
Outcome-scoped, not hours-billed
Engagements are scoped to measurable operational outcomes — not hours billed. Every commitment ties to something that shows up in margin, decision velocity, or board-ready reporting.
Built for operators, not engineers
Systems are designed for the operators who run them — not for elegance on a whiteboard. The people doing the work need to be able to read what they're running, and run it without me in the room.
Resilience over perfection
Perfect systems don't exist. The job is to build systems that absorb the chaos of real fintech operations — regulatory shifts, headcount turnover, integration breaks — not ones that only work in an environment that never shows up.
Let's talk.
30 minutes, no slides. I'll listen to where your operation is breaking, ask the questions that matter, and tell you straight whether there's a fit.
